Data centre

The rack designer plans the racks of a server room or a data centre: rows of racks drawn as elevations, front and rear, with devices placed from your own catalog by dragging them onto a unit or from the keyboard, and moved unit by unit, between racks or to the other face. PDUs carry their outlets, phases and A and B feeds, each device's supplies plug into them, and cables join ports and are traced end to end through every patch panel on the way.

It adds up what matters - units used and the largest gap, power against each rack's budget, every PDU phase against its breaker in normal running and with a whole feed lost, weight, and heat in watts and BTU/h - and lists everything wrong, each a click away. Find room for a new device across the site; colour by type, status, power or owner; and take the site as JSON, the devices and cables as CSV, and the elevations as SVG or a PDF.

Try it with your own plans in confidence: the site is kept in your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded, no copy reaches us or anyone else, and nothing is kept once you close this tab unless you export it.

A comms room

A made-up comms room: two 42U racks with A and B power, a pair of core switches joined by a trunk through two patch panels, servers and storage. One server has only one supply and one rack is close to its weight limit, so the Power and Report tabs have something to say. Drag a device from the list on the left onto a rack.

Keyboard: each device takes focus with Tab. Up and Down move it a unit, Alt with Left and Right to the next rack, F turns it to the other face, Delete removes it, Enter shows its details.

A colocation suite, for the customer

A made-up colocation suite shown read-only to the customers in it, in inches and pounds: four racks in two rows, coloured by who owns each device. Switch to status to see what is planned and what is going, and take the elevations away as a PDF or the devices as CSV.
